Our Reach

When Carl Carlson launched Men of Valor in 1997, it was a one-man ministry with a simple goal: Bring the hope of Christ to men behind bars.
Today, that mission has become a movement, reaching across prison walls, city lines, and state borders to change lives, restore families, and strengthen communities.

Behind Bars and Beyond

We currently serve in multiple prisons and jails across the country, with a growing national footprint. Our teams lead:
  • Weekly in-prison discipleship and mentorship programs
  • Reentry classes and spiritual development
  • Family support and correspondence
  • Volunteer-led Bible studies and worship services
  • One-on-one pastoral care and ongoing follow-up

But our impact doesn’t stop at the state line. To reach even more men, we’ve developed original video-based discipleship content—bringing the Gospel, identity, and purpose into prisons across the country. These Men of Valor video lessons are now being used by correctional systems and ministries nationwide, offering consistent teaching and encouragement even where in-person access is limited.

Residential Campuses

Our two residential campuses—in Nashville and Knoxville—currently house over 120 men combined, providing one full year of holistic, Christ-centered reentry support. From job training and spiritual formation to community engagement and long-term mentorship, we’re building a new model of what restoration can look like.

A Growing Vision

Men of Valor operates in multiple states. Through state partnerships, church alliances, and technology, our reach continues to multiply.

But our reach isn’t just measured in geography. It’s measured in every man who finds hope. Every child who sees their father return different. Every community changed by the presence of men living with purpose.
