There are many types of volunteering opportunities with Men of Valor. If you have a heart for serving the incarcerated and their families, please get in touch with us below. Note: Roles marked with * require male volunteers.
Volunteer at Valor Ridge
*Mentoring: Befriend a man in our discipleship program and walk along side him for the duration of his time at Valor Ridge. Training required
*Lead a small group: Lead a small group Bible study or life skills class at our Antioch campus. Training required
*Lead a discipleship group: Lead a small group of men as they walk through our Bible reading and journaling plan. Training required
*Encourager: This is mainly comprised of listening – just come to campus and help men as they process their new life outside of prison.
*Transportation: Provide transportation for Valor Ridge residents going to work and/or appointments
Administrative Team: Assemble class materials, backpacks, and hygiene bags for a man or for a specific duplex of men in the program.
Hospitality Team: Help us welcome men to their new home! There are several functions on this team including: organizing welcome packs for new men, writing letters, celebrating men on their birthday or as they achieve milestone moments within the program.
Volunteer Inside a Prison
Prayer partner: Pray for the gospel to be proclaimed and Christ’s kingdom advanced inside prison walls. Pray by name for the Men of Valor ministers who serve inside the prison and for the inmates. Our website and news blasts keep our prayer partners informed.
*Mentoring: Befriend a man in prison and walk along side him during his time of incarceration. This would require one hour per week meeting with the man in the visitation gallery.
*Lead a discipleship group: Lead a small group of men as they walk through our Bible reading and journaling plan.
*Lead or Co-Lead a life group: Lead a small group Bible study or life skills class inside one of the units in prison.
*Be an Encourager: Attend a Men of Valor service inside the prison to encourage the men by your presence. Write letters of encouragement to inmates inside the Men of Valor program.
Lead Worship: Join a team of musicians to lead a worship service during daytime hours.
In order to volunteer inside of jails and prisons, you must complete the application and training required by the Tennessee Department of Corrections. Men of Valor can assist you in this process.

Event Team: Help us organize and plan alumni gatherings, graduations, worship nights, home cooked meal nights, and weekend fun trips.
Worship Team: Assist our worship leaders in leading a time of praise and worship. We need singers, musicians, audio board operators, Power Point creators and greeters.
